Mountains
I have just finished adding the mountain ranges to the sky backdrop.
It turns out they are too low for the bench work and some of them have to be redone to raise them above the elevated grade.
I like the way they have turned out though!
Clouds and new carpet
The clouds on the sky backdrop are done, and the new carpet was installed today.
What a difference!
Even the Corgi's approve.
Ready to start fresh
At this point I have all of the walls patched and painted, the baseboard has been repaired from the previous layout installation and I have the base coat for the sky on the walls.
In the lower picture, the second lighter color of blue has been introduced to the sky backdrop in preparation for airbrushing the clouds.
The remaining trains on the shelves and the walls have been covered in blue plastic to protect them.
Destruction
In this wide angle view, we take a last look at the old western Sleepy Hollow just before the demolition.
The lower picture shows all that remains of the layout after the first day of demolition.
It took two days of work and two Bagster portable dumpsters to remove it.
